Absolutely not. No little kid says "when I grow up I wanna be a drug addict, prostitute or homeless etc" sometimes life just takes a turn and that is where we end up and sometimes we are unlucky and can't get out of the situation before it is too late. If you are lucky enough to make it through life without any of these (and other) terrible things happening to you, you should definitely show compassion to others less fortunate. Remember, by the grace of God go I.

There is a difference between a drug user and a drug addict.

Drug users are recreational. They use on occasions and do not require it frequently. They do not go looking for it. If it is there they partake if it is not no worries.

Drug Addicts are just that addicts. Drugs consume them. They wake up (if they sleep) needing that next hit/fix. The will spend there last dollar to get high.

So to answer you question....Yes I feel less compassion for someone who dies of a drug overdose. They do not deserve the compassion. Their Families do for having to endure the pain of watching their loved one slowly kill themselves.

I always feel bad. Especially if they were a parent. A guy I knew in H.S. died about a week ago from a drug overdose, while his wife has his little one on the way. Drug addicts may have ''done it to themselves,'' but it's something very difficult to undo to yourself. A drug addiction can start with one bad decision. Only one.

No.

I feel bad for drug overdose and suicide victims - not because of how their life ended, but because of the events in their lives and the pain inside that made them make such horrible choices.

Should we not have sympathy for those who lead other examples of unhealthy lives and die of heart attack?

No, my cousin died of an overdose and it was hard to watch him go down that road especially at the end when there was absolutely nothing anyone could do to help him.

No. A good friend of mine overdosed and I have as much compassion for him and his family as I do for anyone else who experienced pain and loss.

More so, I think that they would waste their life and ruin the lives and family and friends by doing that to themselves.
