Galileo Galilei invented a thermoscope, but it wasn't as accurate as a thermometer. Santorio Santorio invented the first TRUE thermometer.

Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit was a German inventor .He invented it in 1714 Mercury Thermometer . 1709 -Alcohol Thermometer 1724 - He introduced standard temperature scale. 1742, the Celsius scale was invented Invention was a gradual process to measure the temperature coming way back from 1593 AD of rudimentary water Thermoscope by Galileo to measure variation of Temperature in water.

The answer is Galileo. In 1592 he made a device that measures temperature. It had one obvious design flaw, it didn’t have any numbers on it. So his friend and colleague Santorio corrected that and it was Santorio who first used the thermometer to measure human temperature by having a patient hold one end of it.

Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit (1686-1736) was the German physicist who invented the alcohol thermometer in 1709, and the mercury thermometer in 1714. In 1724, he introduced the temperature scale that bears his name - Fahrenheit Scale.

Some prehistoric woman stuck her elbow in the water before she washed her baby. I don't know her name. I doubt if her mate washed himself or the baby. :)
