A friend of mine and I are having a discussion about the word "ALL".

If I say ALL trees have green leaves .. does that mean that every single tree in the world has green leaves or does it mean that a vast majority of the trees have green leaves.

or

If I say "ALL Republicans are conservative" or "ALL Democrats are Liberal" does the word ALL cover each and every member or can it be utilized to include a statistical majority.

This is very important ... we have a $1 bet on the outcome.

Thanks

'All' does not at all indicate statistical majority because the word 'ALL' means The entire or total number, amount, or quantity; totality; EVERY; WHOLLY; ENTIRELY; COMPLETELY

If you say ALL trees have green leaves. Do you really think that ALL trees have green leaves? NO some trees are not green.

The proper way of saying it (if your refering to statistical majority is) MOST trees are green.
