Definately not fair. If someone feels the need to express their individuality through a name they should change their own rather than imposing a life sentence to be bullied on their child.

Those examples yes are rediculous. My sons name is different but no one i have come accross has disliked it or laughed at it. It is now slowly becoming more commen but when he goes to school he will be the only one in the class with that name. It is good for some people to feel unique but not for them to be laughed at or picked on because of a choice their parents made.

No. I don't even think it's fair to give a kid a recognizable name but butcher the spelling. Some parents act like they're naming a work of art rather than a living human being.

Oh no. Rock star Grace Slick named her boy "god", and last year several couples across the US named their kids "HBO" and "ESPN". Peppermint Patty is also of course a famous Charles Schultz cartoon character.

Definitely not, these parents are looking more at the shock value that they get from these names instead of picking a name that a kid and adult can put up with. It's not that easy to change your name especially if you've been called punkrocker your whole life.

no, its not very fair!
but to be honest it is the parents decision, and i arent going to judge someone because of what they have called their child!
i like apple and peaches for a child though, as long as the child is a girl and has a normal middle name so they can use their middle name if they are unhappy with the first name.

every1 to their own.... as long as the child is loved and cared for then the name shouldn't matter... as well i no, kids can be the cruelest but if you teach your kids not be then none of us would need 2 ask questions as such...

i would name my kid peppermint. AFter my sister pepper. I think its cute i always wanted to switch names with my sister mine is kosha, which i love also. I like being different i got so bored when i heard people with same names alll the time it was good to be the fresh name in a batch of overused ones.
just my opinion why does everyone thumbs down people on opinion questions?

it entirely depends on where they are brought up, what circles they move in etc. Different cultures have different ideas about what they consider to be acceptable names.
These would be unusual names where im from but i would never insult someone elses ideas if it means something to them.
Dont assume all kids go to school, many are homeeducated and kids that make fun of other kids with unusual names obviously come from small minded families that judge other people's ways of life.
