our "freedom" as it is called (in my opion) only stretches as far as what the government likes. its not the freedom of all, but the freedom of the majority. what we are allowed to say, wear, or do with our lives is based mainly on what the government and the "majority" believe should be allowed. laws are the best example. you have to live by the way they say you should or you face fines, jail time, and even criminal records for not following their guidelines on how your life should be lived. laws are good for the most part, but there are many that are "majority" favored and the rest of us are forced to follow or suffer the consequences.

You can say anything you want within reasonable limits. Long ago it was decided that freedom of speech did not give someone the right to scream FIRE in a crowded theater, for obvious reasons. You cannot go on TV or radio and alert a wanted fugitive that the police are closing in on him, or to give military secrets to spies, you cannot advocate the violent overthrow of the government or harming our President. These all seem to make good sense. From time to time zealots attempt to ban adult viewing materials. Why do they even care? Its none of their business, but they think it is. In reality, most people have the good sense and good taste to not abuse the right of free speech. If someone abuses that right, other people have the freedom to condemn that as well.

I believe you can say whatever you want. It's your right. Your free speech rights end where hate speech starts because that would make the public unsafe.

We can't these days, unfortunately. Heck, I don't know many people who are free to speak their mind at work, let alone worry about the gov't! (That includes me.)
