So let's say you live in Maryland and the age of sexual consent is 16 years old.
Does that mean, if you're 15 years old.. and you have sex with another 15 year old... it's ILLEGAL?
Could you go to jail?

You're 15 and have sex with someone who's 17?
is that illegal?
No, I'm not thinking about having sex but it's something I was wondering for a while and I'd like it if someone cleared that up with me, thanks.

15-15: mutual statutory rape, probably no legal issue pressed
15-17: statutory rape by 17, goes to jail.

It means that if you have sex with anyone that is under the age of consent (in this case 16) you can be charged with a crime and you could go to jail. If both are under the age of consent, jail time is less likely, however you may still be charged with a crime. In your second example, the 17 year old is likely to spend at least some time in jail.
If the other person is 18 or older they most certainly will spend some time in jail.
Many states use a sliding scale to determine the decree of the offense; if the older person is only a year older than the under age person the crime is not normally as sever as if the older person was 20 years older.

Interesting question. The law doesn't specify if a 17 year old can have sex with someone under 16 so I guess they probably won't enforce it unless the 17 year old has sex with someone let's say under 12 or something

Most states have what are popularly known as "Romeo and Juliet" laws to protect young people who succumb to tempation. Under R&J laws, if a 28 year old man has sex with a 15 year old girl, that is a crime. If a 17 year old fellow has sex with his 15 year old girlfriend, this is not a crime. I have to say it's between Asians and Blacks. I think the reason why Asians age well is because of our habits, what we eat, and also we have some protection form the sun. As for Black people I'm not sure what their secret is but their skin also protects them form the sun's harmful rays. But it also depends on how well people take care of themselves. But yeah I do see more White people aging faster in looks for some reason.

It become illegal for when one of the pair is four or more years older than the other -- or over 18.

The way I understand it is that if you're 18 and sleep with a 15 year old, you're in trouble.

If you are within 2 years of each other, it is consensual. If it is more than 2 years and one is under age 16, it is statutory rape. Whether consensual or not, it can be prosecuted.
