Seeing as i'm not a big thinker, i'll go with passion without reason.
I probably (as always) haven't taken your question the right way. BUT, I don't understand why you need reason behind passion. Not sure if this is the type of passion you are talking about........i'm passionate about animals and the earth...why!? Because I am..do I need a reason? You are passionate about the earth, humans, being a good person and making people around you happy even if you don't know them....why? Because you do. That's just you and to try and explain it doesn't make your passion better, worth more or less, passion is something that just is!
I love my boyfriend (a type of passion i guess) you ask me why I really couldn't tell you.
You don't always have to have a reason for the way you feel.

No fun in reason without passion. But it is safe. Passion without reason is my choice. But it is a risk.

Passion without reason is more instinctual but also can bring out much more destructive qualities. I try to stick with reason without passion.

Neutral, but who would honestly choose "reason without passion"? Prefering to have no passion is cruel.

PASSION without reason & REASON without passion are the frailities of the human race from the begining of man kind that are the most responsible of all for the shape the world is in at this time. PASSION without reason is the driving force behind mad men and terrorists, despots and tryants, murderers of lovers and their loved. REASON without passion is the driving force behind mad men and terrorists, despots and tryants, murders of lovers and their loved. Mix them together so one can temper the other and you have passionate and reasonable people like GEORGE WASHINGTON, who led the battle for independance...FRANKLIN D ROOSEVELT, the great humanitarian who fought Congress to aid the World in its dilema and last but not least RONALD REGAN whom I believe used both to save the world and mankind from total destruction and made AMERICA strong & powerful again and both passionate and reasonable.
