Could someone help me with this math question? I've been trying all day to figure it out. I would really appreciate it thanks.

Tony leaves his house at 10:00 am and drives to his sister’s house. If the drive is at an average speed of 93km/h and the distance between their homes is 238.5 km at what time will he arrive at his sister’s house?

About 12:33:52 (twelve thirty-three and fifty-two seconds). You just divide the distance by the average speed and add it to the starting time, very trivial math really.

Your speed is calculated by taking KM divided by H. So in this case you set 93 km/h= 238.5km / X h and solve for X. So you're going to divide 238.5/93 which equals about 2.56 hours so you add that onto 10:00 am so you'll get there at 12:37 (remember to convert the hours into minutes).

That should be right.. kind of weird that it didn't work out to be a round number though!

238.5 divide by 93 = 2.56 that's time driven in hours
he left at 10 AM so he gets there just after 12:30 PM

238.5 / 93 = 2.5645...

0.5645 of 60 will be about 33.87...

0.87 of 60 is about 52.2...

So, the time he approximately arrived will be:
10 + 2 hours + 33 minutes + 52 seconds
= 12:33:52 PM.

Total time to travel is 238.5/93 = 2.56 hours

Converting the part of an hour to minutes gives .56 hours x 60 mins = 33.6 mins

So he took 2 hrs 33.6 mins to travel. Add this to the 10am start time and you get 12.34 as his arrival time

238.5 km/(93km/h)=time it takes to get there
add that to when he left, but you might have to change the time from hours to minutes
