I'm not particularly devastated. First of all, things look very good for a Liberal president, and a continued Liberal congress. That's two out of three, especially when the Conservatives have made it clear they don't want to legislate from the bench.
Second, the Justices tend to vote beyond the politics of the day. They have all studied bad court decisions (ie Plessy v. Ferguson, Dred Scott v. Sandford, Korematsu v. United States, etc) and do not want to have a negative legacy. As a result, all but the most strident Liberal and Conservative Judges tend to look for moderate solutions to their cases.
Third, Decades to come? I doubt it. Four of the Justices are over 70, and two more are in their late sixties. And the Republicans aren't going to control the nomination procedure in the near future.
Sure, it's a touchy time for liberal court cases, but it's always a little touchy.

I would not count my judges until after the next election. There are two judges that are more than likely going to be replaced after the next election. Depends on who's gets the presidency . If the Dem's wins it will add more balance, if the GOP wins all bets are off and the court will be conservative for the foreseeable future. When anyone seems to enjoy sticking to others to much, I always think be careful of what you wish for because you might get it.

that's reliable! the biggest distinction is: Conservatives have faith in God, smaller government, and private duty. Liberals go through a psychological illness and have faith (study as dream) that the State (i.e. government) would desire to play the placement of God as a manner to create a Heaven on earth (the place there is not any prefer for inner maximum duty b/c the government will make all selections for all persons). i'm fantastically beneficial that's what the story above gets at.

Solidly conservative? When where? Kennedy is a swing vote in the middle of 4 'liberals' and 4 'conservative' justices. There is no solid anything in this matter.
Keep wishing for that ever illusive Roe Vs Wade overturning. It won't happen.

Finally, we have a decent Supreme Court that realize where the Constitution came from and hopefully they can interpret it correctly. Abolishing abortion would certainly make me happy. Upholding the laws we have now and not making new ones would be a great treat! Hopefully, they will remember that Americans have a "right to life." And since man can't create life and God says there is life in the blood, then maybe they will realize that a baby becomes a person at conception.

Once again using fake news to support an argument. On CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and NPR they are predicting that the liberals have a good chance at winning some major cases such as treatment of alleged terrorists at Gitmo. Key word is alleged for those of you who think just because they were sent to Gitmo they are guilty. Can't wait to rub it in your smug repub nose when you are proven wrong.

If you are telling me that the Conservative members of the Supreme Court won't uphold the Constitution of the United States, I am very devastated..
If you are telling me they will uphold the Constitution, then why on earth would I be devastated.

only allowing people with similar political affiliations to serve on the Supreme Court doesn't make someone a "man of integrity"

I am happy as Hell, since it has the power to overturn the crazy judgments that come out of the 9th District inn S.F., Something has to balance it out, or we would all be screwed by S.F. California Justice,
