Just factor it. To do this, get 32 on the other side.

x^2 - 4x - 32 = 0

Now factor.

(x - 8)(x + 4) = 0

Use the Zero Product Property here.

x = 8 or x = -4

There's your answer. x can equal both 8 and -4.

the 1st is robust, you may combine like words. The x squared words are the comparable. the 2d is incorrect, x^3 and x^4 are unlike words and can't be mixed to x^7. the main simplified way is x^3 + x^4.

if x=8.....8 squared = 64
4x=32

64-32=32

so X equals EIGHT
