it isnt going to be a rice, muffler doesnt have much sound

Well it is hard to adapt a 3" pipe onto a 1 1/2" exhaust. Try a complete cat back exhaust system Borla Greedy Gibson Superflow and others...I bet you will not find anything 3 inch for a four cyl car except the tail pipe tip. That large may defeet the whole reason you want flow.

Welding tends to rust out prematurely. I would simply replace both the muffler and the tail pipe at the same time and then the pipes easily fit together and can be clamped rather than welded. The muffler connection to the exhaust pipe leading to the catalytic converter can be matched up by buying short pipe adapters from the auto parts store. You'll need ramps and safety jack stands and wheel chocks to work safely under the car on a level surface.

A Ford Focus has no need for a 3 inch muffler.

If you already have the muffler, than around $90 is my guess. If you need to purchase one, then close to $160. It really depends on the shop.

Unless you are dropping a big block with a turbo in that thing, there is no need for a 3" exhaust.
If you really want to do it, It is going to depend on if you need the shop to bend the pipes for you or if you are providing them for you.

i agree with bobweb,it will probably cost about the same to replace all of it.
