I don't know where you live but most cities and states won't even allow you to keep 50 cats!!!! I hope you are a homeowner because I really don't think any landlord would be cool with such a thing.
I am an animal lover to the core but with that many animals they cannot be getting the proper attention and vet care that they need. Pets are to be treated as family members.
You mentioned that your place gets filthy and that is not healthy for you or your cats. Try to find a good home for a lot of them so you can handle them better.
Be a responsible pet owner and make sure they are neutered and spayed and have all the proper shots.

I have to tell you, I feel sorry for them! Unless you have a big piece of land and they can be safely outside to act like cats in the outdoors. But if they are inside, it would be better for them to find some new homes. Cats are territorial creatures and it is actually stress full for them to be confined with each other if there is not enough room! And it can be very unhealthy and expensive for you and their vet bills . I have 2 and it is always something to deal with. If you are having trouble cleaning up it is time to find some help before you turn up on animal planets. Animal cops!

I say, keep 3 to 4 cats...go to the nearest grocery store, ask the store manager for permission to ask people to adopt the kittens/cats for a small fee. Then, as soon as possible, make an appointment with a professional counselor to help you with this issue. It could be that something deep within is lacking. Also, it might be wise to attend socials, dances, clubs, bowling or other sporting, etc. activities, and/or church services & activities, to interact with other human beings....this would help in building confidence and your self- esteem. It is definitely a process, but, it would be mentally & emotionally beneficial to you, in recreating YOUR- NEW HEALTHY LIFE! It is vital that you take care of number ONE....That's Yourself!! Otherwise, if you're not healthy, with sound mind and body, who will care for those few cats you have at home??? God Bless You!

I used to have 15 and probably would have ended up with 50 but I got in trouble from the county! Cats multiply like rabbits if you don't watch out!

At one time I had 29 cats living in my back yard. When I got fed up, It cost me a fortune to put them in a no kill shelter. Never again.

I think you should give them away to friends or relatives or even animal shelter because you can not take care of them all and I don't think you would have time to take care of yourself
And I think you are a very good man
