It doesn't matter what list they are on or not on, they are definitely 'endangered' because of their shrinking habitat from global warming.

For example, they hang out on the ice packs hunting seals but now, even though they are fantastic swimmers, they are spending too much of their precious energy swimming the huge distances between the disappearing ice.

P.S. - they are more 'dangerous' than most bears because they are carniverous and hungry, but they still have a right to live.

It really depends on weather you want one as your neighbour, come live in Canada where there are to dam many bears and then see if they are a species in danger, I have lived next to bears all my life and I can tell you man cannot live with them, so you have a choice take out mankind or take out the bears, most city folk have never seen a live bear up close so they have no idea what their like to live with, they are not friendly and if given the chance they will kill you.

I believe they should be on the endangered species list due to the fact that slowly their land is melting, disappearing away. Nature depends on a even balance and their habitat is in an area that is now getting the attention it desires.

I want the future children to be able to enjoy all animals and not just as an exhibit in a natural history musuem.

I think human beings should be added to that list, because pretty soon the climate and general conditions on this planet will no longer support human life.

Isn't it ironic that the end of the human race comes not from forces we can't control but rather forces we refuse to control.
