Do you think it is wrong that a man has to pay for a child his partner chose to keep? It is different if the guy said he'd be there for the girl and the baby, but then after it is born he's gone. But if the guy did not want it at all or knew nothing of it until its birth? If you are pro-choice, and believe he should, isn't that hypocritical? Since he didn't want it?

Oh yeah, I am a feminist AND a masculist.

If you are pro-choice and you think he should, what makes him not fathering or financially supporting his child different from a woman who gets an abortion for the same reasons?

That's a really tough question to answer. There is always the option of signing off parental rights and having no contact with the child. I'm sure the laws do vary from state to state. My husband has a son, who's now 17. He didn't know he existed until the boy was 9. He has no contact with his son (the mother and son do not want any), but he continues to pay the child support. He did it even though he didn't have to-he could have signed off his rights. Would I have faulted him for having signed off parental rights instead? Absolutely not! Some men (and women), just do not want or need to be parents-I think it's a perfectly viable option. It's a personal choice, just as abortion or adoption is.

yes he should. He can give up his rights to his child as many men with no guts now do. But if hes going to willingly participate in an activity that causes this child to come into this world and its proven that this is his child even if he doesn't want it he should pay child support for the child until he chooses to give up his rights.

Nobody rides for free. If you have sex and it results in a child, why should I have to support that child with my tax dollars?

I think he should pay for it.I only disagree with a man paying when he doesn't get to see the child.

Yes he should. If he doesn't trust his partner to effectively or actually utilize birth control he should use his own or abstain.

Yes he should still pay for it. If she decides to keep it, oh well. He should have been more careful.
