Speaking of Osama Bin Laden where is he? He's not in Iraq and neither were WMD's.

Truth be told eight years of the Clinton administration were the boom years for Muslim fundamentalist terrorist groups. They were empowered by committing notorious acts of terrorism around the globe with no retaliation from Clinton's administration. Having years to grow accustomed to the lack of retaliation from the US they, rightfully, began to think that Clinton didn't have the guts and resolve to defend America from terrorists. What the terrorists were wrong about was they, incorrectly, believed the same to be true of the American people as a whole. Now, 8 years later, the terrorists have had to rethink their position. I'm not a fan of war and have the utmost respect for the young men and women sacrificing their youth and possibly their lives for our freedoms. I think the next President will answer the terrorists questions. I just hope the answer doesn't make vain the sacrifices of our devoted and heroic military.

The idiot W. Bush played right into Osama's hands by invading Iraq. We have lost the support of the whole world because of that unwarranted invasion, and we created millions more Islamic enemies. We have killed many al qaeda in Iraq, but there are millions more waiting to take their place. Iraq has been an unmitigated disaster for the USA.

He did attack when a poll reading Lib as in Clinton.
Mogadishu, the USS Cole, the Twin towers, 2 embassies. and set up the 911 under Clinton .
WHO by the way was offered Osama on a silver platter by Yemen.
But he was to busy playing with cigars.

Is Osama still free after 6 years? Yep.
Did Osama escape (again) from Tora Bora in August 2007, due to a lack of military support (once again)? Yep.
So, no I don't think they have 'overplayed' their hands.
If anything, Bush played right into their hands by invading Iraq.
BTW: Before the 18 died in Somalia, 242 marines were killed in Lebanon and Reagan cut and ran immediately after that.

FLIP
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
Washington Post, 9/17/01, UPI: Bush said he wants accused terrorist leader Osama bin Laden "dead or alive.” “I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI
AP, 12/14/01: President Bush pledged anew Friday that Osama bin Laden will be taken "dead or alive."
FLOP:
Capturing OBL no longer a priority:
G.W. Bush, 3/13/02: I don't know where Bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."

I think so.
For over 26 years they terrorized and murdered Americans all over the globe with pretty much impunity.
It is no surprise that sooner or later they would feel invincible and over confident in their tactics. They did, and now they are finally realizing the consequences.
