Why stay in this country if you dislike it?
Instead of trying to change our way of living - why don't you move elsewhere where that country will bend over backwards to accommodate you?

- - - > SHINOBI - you are aware that this nation was founded by Christians and based on Christian principles, right? If you dislike it - leave. We're not leaving any time soon.. This is our land.

- - - > SKY - I guess it's easier for you to turn and talk smack about Bush. I wasn't referring to him. If you don't know what being an American is you shouldn't have even attempted to answer this question. What I'm asking has nothing to do with the current president!

- - -> RESEVOIRDOG - I assume you love this country because of the free handouts, the benefits, the security, correct? So you are, in fact, the true hypocrite.

It's a matter of degree. If you did simply find America an unpleasant place to live, you could simply leave. But, if you are genuinely anti-American, getting out isn't enough, you need to destroy that which you hate. Whether that's accomplished litterally, by aiding America's enemies, or metaphorically, but bringing about radical change is immaterial.

We don't hate our country, its the fact our government is not doing anything about our immigrant problem, and some Catholic politicians are trying to reverse abortion laws, defining marriage between a man and a women etc..also the fact they are allowing huge corporations to flee to other countries to avoid tax. Americans are patriotic and love our country.@Josef, really we have the lowest minimum pay? Where you get you resources from? You get about 10 dollars an hour working at McDonald's, and usually for kids. America still.has one of the best economies, we export the most in grain, corn, wheat, rice, beef to the world. We have the highest paying sports, MLB, NBA,NFL,Golf. We have the highest paying doctors, lawyers, politicians, engineers, you can become a millionaire over night, and we are home to the most millionaires,. We are high-tech and everycity is modernized, you can find cheaper homes near canada, but no one wants to live there. You go to places like California and your home will be at least a half a million, or up. Same in new York. We have Hollywood and animation, Disneyland and world, countless zoos, universities,...oh yes poor Americans, that's why we have an immigration problem because everyone wants to live here not Canada.

Evidenlty you don't know what a real American is either. It is ever real Americans right to oppose anothers point of view whether you like it or not. It's called freedom of speech and freedom of expression. If you don't like these freedoms then you move. The reason the founding fathers came over here was to escape religious persecution and now you want to persecute anyone who doesn't believe the way you do. What a hypocrite. By the way I am not going anywhere. I love this country, it's people like you that I dislike.

First choice for another country would be an English speaking country. Unless you have education, skills and money Australia and New Zealand will not have you. South Africa and Canada I am not sure of and the Scandinavian countries are pretty tough (from experience).
So, no one will have second rate Americans and few of those who have education, skills and money are emigrating.

Why is it that people think that you have to leave the country if you don't agree with the country's leadership? Did Republicans cross into Canada when Clinton was President? No. Why do you expect Democrats to leave because of Bush, especially when they can affect change quickly in the next election?

Bonjour, France!
Actually, nothing is keeping them from leaving but themselves. The simple fact of the matter is that they know this is still the most free country in the world, and they'll have severe problems with what they're trying to accomplish if they move elsewhere. The threat to move to another country is really nothing more than a political stunt to garner popularity with what Rush refers to as the "kook fringe;" I haven't heard of one example of a person moving to another country for petty political reasons ("I HATE BUSH!") and actually liking it, or indeed of anyone actually moving.

i can happily tell you that a lot of us who are anti-american dont live in your country, but going by the 20,000 ex-americans living and raising a family of new loyal citizens in my country, a lot are leaving. perhaps occassionally visiting family, but looking forward to leaving again.
many ex-americans that i know here are quite happy with their choice... atleast they still have freedoms and options in my country where speaking against the govt. won't see you tar and feathered like in the usa, or classed as a traitor for having the balls to speak your mind.

I guess that whole freedom of speech thing didn't go as well as you had planned huh ?
Here you are telling the world you are a free nation and all the freedom people like you want to offer is to get out
Lets see if you will put your money where your mouth is
Everyone - who wants to leave the US you will provide a plane ticket to (one way of course) or you will shut up
Are you up to the challenge ?

Most of us agree with the founding fathers of this country when we say that NOT criticizing or questioning our government and our public servants is pretty darn Anti-American.
People who like to follow what's fed to them without asking any questions can move to Saudi Arabia, where they can feel comfortable with a proverbial tape over their mouths. A true American feels free to speak his/her mind. A true American isn't muffled so easily. That, my friend, is the definition of being an American.
