I have a great love and talent for both. I really want to help my family in the future financially. I hope I don't sound greedy, but I am taking this very seriously. So please give me your input. Thanks!!!

Both careers can pay a lot of money, but it is rare that ther avarage worker in either activity stands out.
Models can earn a lot, but mainly female top models, and the really big contracts are rare. If you are at least 5"7 and have a slim, athletic figure and a distinct face to go with it... invest in a portfolio with some very good shots of your person, I suggest made by a professional photographer.
Than you can send the pictures or make an appointment through a modeling agency where they will avaluate your looks and see if the current mercadology needs persons like you for the campaign adds and so on. you should go to a school and learn how to do the catwalk too, many models work in fashion shows, which can also pay a lot of money, sometimes even 10000 dollars a show.
For acting, that is a different scenario and I guess that is not something you can just decide to be or become. It is a passion for most great actors and you should already be acting in any theater etc... to enjoy it and get more stamina, experience and the feel of it.
The important thing is you do what you love to do and feel happy about it. Money is sometimes a condition that comes along with it.
good luck

The best answer to this question is neither.

You can make a great deal of money as either a super model or a super star. You might get lucky and get discovered in a corn field in Illinois like Cindy Crawford or on a stool at Schwab's Drugstore like Lana Turner (actually it was at the Top Hat Cafe). That happens to maybe one in ten thousand.

I don't want to turn you away from your dream, but you do need to understand that big money in modeling or acting can be very elusive. Most actors (for which I have some knowedgle and experience (and I would assume most models)) end up working second or third jobs waiting for the next casting call in hope that is might be the "one."

This isn't to say it can't happen, just that the odds are against you, and you need to be aware of that going in. By all means get some training, enter some beauty contests, make some contacts, talk to agents -- in short do what ever is necessary to succeed.

From what I've read and from people I've talked to in both fields, I think you'll find greater success sooner if you go after acting and not modeling. But either way, it will take a lot of work and probably a fair amount of time.

I would venture to say that the average model makes more than the average actor. Both are very elusive careers not necessarily bestowing favor on those who love or have talent for them. If you want ot help your family in the future, learn finacial investing. These two fields are very uncertain.

Both are extremely competitive. It depends.
Acting can pay miniscule if you get into theatre.
Modeling may pay more but it depends if you can get work or not. Try both. If you are smart then I think you might be bored with modeling?
Get involved with community theatre to get some experience and to see if you really like it. Start reading. The more you read the better off you will be. Read plays. Read novels.
Play act with friends.

Not every actor or models makes the same amount of money.

Hi-profile models can make millions, while lesser known models make only thousands.

As an actor, people make pretty good tips while waiting tables because they are usually good at talking to people.

As a model, it is hit and miss. It depends on which gentlemen's club you're at, and how often you get on stage.
