because other animals are living in peace with nature and don't give a damn about money social status or cheating / owning anybody

Many things separate humans from other animals, for instance we have harnessed electrons in such a way that you can ask a question online and receive an answer from the other side of the world. In order to keep the human civilization from decending into chaos, which arguably is the state of being in which most animals live, we have laws and regulations. America for instance has laws that were voted on, or put into effect by elected officials that govern the way we live. Marriage licenses are one of these regulations for several reasons: taxation, property division, and others. We humans have determined that this would be the best way to organize marriage and made laws to coincide with this belief.

Oh...this is funny...Now if my dog Betsy could read and write and drive a car ...I would say what the hell, make her get a license before she dates the black lab next door, who knows, she might come up pregnant and then will have to marry and get another license. When she starts to do all the above mentioned things, we will make sure she is licensed to do all the things she wants to do...within reason...of course.. Now ...in the meantime, why don't you find something else to do besides ask stupid questions on the net? There are alot of people on here actually help others solve REAL problems, why don't you try that and see if it won't fill some of your spare time...

Humans do not need a license to marry. A license is a man-made object only.

We're the only animals with *written* language. We have it - we use it.
Dude if you are trying to weasel out of getting married, just tell her you don't want to. But for god's sake don't pull that "it's just a piece of paper, now come to bed baby and give me some tail" line.

Animals don't get married, they just mate. And no one needs a license to mate. ;)

Because other animals don't get married. They mate. Usually with random animals... some animals are monogamous; but they don't "get married" so they don't need "licenses" and they don't have laws because they're just ANIMALS. duh.

How do you know they DON'T. Maybe squirrels have to visit the special chief judge squirrel before they're allowed to make little squirrels!! I don't speak squirrel, so I can't ask them. Perhaps you could handle that for me.
