If she is breastfeeding her period may not come while she is still doing that. I didn't get my period for about 6 weeks after I gave birth, so give it a little time. She should be having a doctors appointment around 6 weeks after giving birth so she can talk to her doctor about it then. Until then, use a condom because if she is continuing to breastfeed, then she can only take certain types of birthcontrol.

She should consult with her doctor. If she's nursing, her birth control options are very limited.
If she is lactating (nursing) then menstruation can be greatly delayed (sometimes for up to 3 months following the weaning of the baby)...but NEVER rely upon this as a method of contraception. Just because she isn't menstruating doesn't mean she isn't ovulating.

After birth such irregular in menstruation happens, wait for the nature to take its course and then it will be regular. She wants to maintain birth control, consult to the gynecologist and she will advise you considering to your health and child age. Both sex should also cooperate with each other to maintain delay in pregnancy, unless you get your child at least 3 years old, he/she is depending on mother feeding, so let the child get his/her right. Breast feeding will keep her delay in further pregnancy.

when i had my baby i had a constant bleed for 3 weeks, then after that it was a month after id stopped bleeding from the 3 week bleed before i got my usual period again. it varies from women to women your wifes body obviously hasnt yet functioned back into her pre maternal body yet just give it time im sure sheel soon be back on track, also if she is breastfeeding that acts as a contraception to the body as it knows that youve had a baby dont ask me why, thats what i got told by my midwife.

Sometimes stress or extreme weight loss can cause a period to skip. Still she should make an appointment with a gynecologist.

Well, you guys shouldn't be having sex for six weeks anyways. If she gets pregnant, her breast milk will dry up. Also, she shouldn't be on BC when she is breast feeding anyway. As for her period, don't stress about it.
Use condoms.
