How about if you do this: Talk to a bunch of Nam vets, and ask their opinion. I bet you will apologize to your dad after you do.

How are they comparable those have been 2 very distinctive wars different than for the undeniable fact that they have been in Asia, Communist, and North and South. Korea replaced into an entire scale warfare and Korea can get very chilly and the troops fought in larger infantry divisions, think of WW II. Vietnam replaced into Jungle warfare thoroughly distinctive difficulty on the floor, You had Guerrilla warfare, ambushing mixing in with Civilians. (think of Iraq with jungles) The Wars on the floor have been 2 very distinctive wars. anybody who tells you the wars have been ineffective ignores that background got here out in our prefer. i propose if i superpower like the Soviet Union can give way shall we've too.

As far as you calling your father a "dumb war Criminal" sounds to me you have more issues than going there on exchange program or not.

I've got 2 things for ya. the first is that when your dad was in nam it was horrible, back then, all he knew was death. so it is natural for him to think of the place as bad, back then, gurilla warfare was brutal. and second, this is your life, not your dad's, if you have the money, and it is something you really wand to do, DO IT.

MANY AMERICANS WHO FOUGHT IN VIETNAM DESPISE THE PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THINGS THAT OCCURRED DURING THE WAR. NOT EVERYONE WAS A HERO.
