Why do people ask really good questions,then not respond?

it really bugs me when people ask a good/interesting question.people then give really thoughtful answers,research,etc.then the asker does not respond to anything,and it goes to vote.grrrr!

Yes I agree and it seems like more and more questions have been going into voting.
