do you tell the shop assistant they are neaxt or would you ignore the child and get served first?

The reason I ask is because the woman infront of me today blatantly ignored the child in front of her who could barely see over the counter. I pointed out to her and the cashier that the child was in fact next only to be told mind my own business!

I get very defensive on behalf of the children. I HATE people who push a little kid out of their way in order to get served themselves. I've seen it happen to my own kids, and it annoys the cr*p out of me. I act a bit like your name - a mad Irish momma!

I'd tell the shop assistant that the little child/children is/are next. I don't mind waiting. And, if I'm in a hurry, I might ask the child/children if I could cut in front of them.

Stop and tell the assistant they are next. Even if you are ahead of them most likely you will have more stuff than the child and the nice thing is to let them go first

I tell the shop assistant that they are next-- and if I see an adult cut in front of the child I speak up for him/her.

Tell them the kid is next. SOMETIMES though, if a kid got ignored, it may be because they look like they are someones child and just waiting. If this happened to you, I would hope the people just assumed that and were not being intentionally rude.

omg! thats awful to think that someone would be so heartless as to ignore the children and go ahead of them. i would always tell the shop assistant that they are next because its the right thing to do.

If they are in line, then of course they would be served first.(assuming they have the money and are ready to pay). Usually if they are "just looking" the clerk hopefully will be smart enough to take the customers that are ready to check out, while the children are deciding, and tend to them when they are ready.

I always wait my turn and if the assistant tries to serve me first then I say "This little girl/boy is next"
I remember how angry it made me when I was a kis.
