Sri Lanka took the opening honours of the one-day series against England with an overwhelming 119-run victory at Dambulla Rangiri Stadium.
Farveez Maharoof took advantage of some extra zip under the floodlights to floor England's chase with three key wickets and the innings fell apart for 150.
Mahela Jayawardene hit 66, Sanath Jayasuriya 41 and Upul Tharanga 40 in the home side's 269-7 on a slow pitch.
Debutant Phil Mustard made a brisk 27 in reply but he and Kevin Pietersen fell to Farveez Maharoof (4-31) as England went from 43-0 to 102-6.
Alastair Cook (46) battled for 80 balls but after he edged Maharoof behind, they folded for 150 in the 35th over.
Man of the Match was awarded to Farveez Maharoof.

Sri Lanka defeated eNGLAND BY 119 Runs. By chasing 270 runs for a win, England were all out for 150 runs in 34.5 overs. Farveez Maharoof was the main destrohyer of England by taking 4 vital wickets in 10 overs conceding onlhy 31 runs.
