I have an Xbox 360 and a wii, and for me to say i am a hardcore gamer would be an understatement. I have only once had a sort of 2 minute play on a ps3 (F1) But im concidering Is the £425 worth it? I would probably get it around Xmas time, so will there be a price drop soon?

get money for christmas, wait till the january sales, and get a really good. it'll be worth it when some decent games are coming

If you are a hardcore gamer, then yes the PS3 is worth it. I bought mine in the U.S. for $685 around the time when they first came out, but 425 pounds is like $850 dollars in the U.S. and that's a lot of money, but I say that it's still worth it.
I seriously doubt another price drop because the price was dropped around summer time in the U.S. If there is another price drop in the U.S. around Christmas time, it will probably be a $30 or $40 dollar price drop but I highly doubt it.

They are £425 in *ame just now.
I would shop around on line, try ebay there are plenty of deals about. My hubby& Kids much prefer the PS3 to any of the other consoles. They usually drop the price quite drastically in the shops after xmas also.

I suppose everyone is different, but my hubby bought the PS original, the PS2 and bought the PS3 a few months ago, he says the PS3 is over rated and doesn't think that it was worth paying the price. Yes it looks good, but that is about all. There are very few games at the moment for PS3

brought a ps3 3 months ago but im still playing my 360 as the games for the ps3 are to expensive and not enough of them.
But the ps3 has some great features the big hard drive,its already wireless and its got memory card slots.when blue ray takes off and you can buy lots of preowned games i think its going to be well worth it.
so i think i would probably wait 6 months.

yes it is definitly worth it. ive had a PS3 since last january and there are many things on the ps3 that are far superior to the wii and ps3. for example, the online play is free and has more players online than the wii

The price will drop. From my point of view it is awesome but the price is over rated. But the games are ok. I think that the 1000 that it was was wayyyy to much though.

Well if you don't want a blue ray player I don't think so but if you plan on watching movies ans stuff also it is a good deal

don't get a ps3 as in january2008 you can get a ps3 60gig for £300
