The Earth is between 4.5 and 4.6 billion years old. The oldest zircon rock dating methods give it a lower age limit of 4.4 billion years, and the age of the Solar System (determined from meteorites that have fallen to Earth and from comparison of the Sun to other stars of similar mass and composition) give it an upper limit of about 4.6 billion years old.
