a close family member just died, and i keep thinking about...what happens AFTER death? the thought keeps haunting me and i dont know, its so confusing........whats going to happen to ME? this is all really frusterating, mostly because i can't think straight or be myself, because of this stupid thought. help??

I believe that nothing happens when you die. You just don't exist anymore. BUT If I had to choose some religious BS to feed you I would choose reincarnation. You come back as a tree...Unless you have reached perfection and can leave the cycle of reincarnation.
If you were a terrible person you might come back as a dung beetle!

No one has a definite answer as no one has come back to tell us. However, before I was born, I was somewhere....and it doesn't frighten me or upset me that I don't remember. I think that where ever I go after death will not be frightening either.
Personally, I think we live on as spirit and keep evolving, or reincarnating to do the same.

Although I would LIKE to believe there is an everlasting life and all that the religious people tell you, I am not sure---and no one really truly IS sure until THEY die.... it's not worth worrying about however because my goal is to make my LIFE as good and happy as I can until that time. And hopefully, if there IS something after life---I will end up in a good place... and if there ISN'T? well then, I can go knowing I did what I needed to do in THIS LIFE to make it the best I could. (for myself and for those around me)....

Nobody really knows, but I believe there is an afterlife where you will still be yourself and still be able to grow and evolve.
The mystery of not knowing is what keeps life interesting!

The simple fact is that -nobody- knows. But you probably become what you were before you were born. That wasn't so bad, was it?
