I will like to answer this question with a quote from our president:
“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.” ~ George W. Bush

While I agree that Bush has not been the worst president in American history, to call him one of the greatest is a bit premature.
The establishment of "good Christian Values" in the White House will leave with him. Any establishment he made is temporary and the legacy will be short-lived and remembered differently based on who follows and how Iraq ultimately settles.
The lengths Bush has gone to protect this country may or may not have overstepped some boundaries. I feel in a time of war that he may do that and be perfectly fine with it, however, once the war has ended, if the measures he put in place do not stand to reason or our Constitution it may all be for naught.
The tax cuts helped more than just the middle class. Most everyone benefited from it, although those not used to a windfall probably didn't know what to do with it. I'm not as certain it "saved the economy" but it certainly did help pull us out of a recession.
Many presidents have tried programs for the educational system...except put more emphasis on the basics. Bush's program gives a way of measuring, but when schools focus more on the test than the education of the children, there's a problem.

So you base all your love of George Bush based on a single sex scandal that should have never been made public in the 1st place?
Saved us from terrorists? By invading Iraq, before the job was done in Afganistan, and now half the world hates us. Great Job Georgie.
Fought for the Rich, not the middle class. I AM middle class, and I am certainly NOT better off than I was 8 years ago Thanks to Bush. Saved the Economy???? That was done already by Clinton, before Bushy boy ever made it to the Whitehouse. Bush has put us farther in to debt than and other US President.
I won't even go in to the "No child left behind" fiasco.
I still can't believe there are still so many brainwashed conservative right wing republicans out there. People can be so narrow minded. I guess it's easier to blindly follow, than to question one's motives.
To Henry VIII: You do your homework! Awsome job.

Well you are right about one thing...
He will be remembered among Washington, Reagan, Jefferson......but for the wrong reasons.
America is turning into a military state. America has been involved in the majority of wars in the last decade....they should have stopped Palestine being invaded too etc etc. America is the most powerful country in the world...speaks of freedom more then any other country yet sending men and women to war, putting visiting restrictions on countries such as Cuba..constant surveillance of the population...
Bush really needs to think about what he is doing...freedom will never be achieved until countries such as Iran give up their weapon programmes...but America then needs to lead the world and destroy their own nuclear weapons too. Freedom and Bush in the same sentence does not do it for me.
I could tell you more but you might not be interested anyway.

Liberals are retards who don't know what they want, of who still think a war, "unneeded war," is still in progress. If this doesn't insult their IQ! Technically speaking the war ended with the capture of Stalin's middle eastern brother! We are serving there as a means to guide a transition between the state of Anarchy and the future state of Iraq, which by the way is pretty much already here. They just want to blame Pres. Bush for their stupidity. Although I do agree that your Pastor should not be mentioning his political opinions publicly, therefore I hope he spoke his views to you in confidentiality. Take it from a Vet, things are better in Iraq than it appears on CNN (the modern tokyo roses.)

Do not bring Christian values into politics and try to impress people. A Christian is one who follows the teachings of Christ. By what way you declare that the decisions made by the white house in the past 7 years have reflected anything a Christian ought to do?
Politicians tap into the Christian crowd to get their votes. This president is no exception. People should have the brains to vote for the person with good morals and leadership rather than sticking on to the same party for the rest of their lives.

Well I personally think that its too early to judge President Bush before his presidency is even over. Like all Presidents historians will study him for many years. I think most think it is too early because in most President ranking lists he is at about 22, near Clinton and Bush 41, which is right about at the middle since we;ve had 42 Presidents and its too early to judge how good or bad he was. Or even how good or bad Clinton or Bush 41 was. Lincoln was at the top, Roosevelt, Washington, Jefferson was a few slots down, Reagan was like #15 or something.

I beg to differ.
1) If fighting a war in another country is legitimized by the Christian faith, then I don't want to be a Christian of that kind. Where is the help for the homeless? I don't think Jesus ever said "pick yourself up by your bootstraps, I don't have time for you".
2) I didn't know that President Bush picked up a gun and fought in either of those countries. Give the credit to the men and women who are over there, not some guy sitting in a tux at the white house waiting to receive foreign dignitaries.
3) My 401k sucks right now. It was good under Clinton.
4) He may have raised standards, but the schools in my city's district lack adequate air conditioning, quality textbooks, and safe harbor from the street violence outside.
Need I go on?

Im still trying to figure out if your post is a joke, but I will bite :P
1) If Christian values involve starting wars for no reason, screwing over the poor, you "Christians" can keep them.
2) Bush has made us significanltly LESS SAFE by turning the entire worlds muslim population against us..
3) 99% of Bush Tax cuts went to the rich, creating a much bigger divide between the wealthy and the middle class. Bush has taken a dump on the middle class for the last 7 years.
4) No child left behind actually leaves a lot of children behind, and is a sad excuse for real education reform.

Sarcasm is wonderful. Let's all hope you are being sarcastic and do not actually believe that huge load of BS you laid out for all of us to smell. Your statement could not be any further from the truth. 'Bush will be remembered as one of the greatest leaders in history'? Maybe among the leaders of fascism, he's done great things for the advancement of that idealogy.

How about this accomplisment?
By ignoring his duty to protect and defend the United States we were attacked on 9/11!
Why was the 20th hijacker in FBI custody for weeks before 9/11 and the plot wasn't foiled?
Why did FBI HQ in Washington obstruct terrorism investigations by denying requested FISA warrants from its Minneapolis office?
What kind of ORDERS did Bush give after receiving the briefing saying Bin Laden determined to strike inside US?
