I am 13 weeks pregnant and I have constant vivid dreams, not really regarding anything about the baby or birth, just dreams that are scary and or very sexual, is this somewhat 'normal', probably pertaing to hormones or something equally obvious?

I got married 2 months ago when I was 5 months pregnant, and right before the wedding I was having dreams about disasters, like violent storms and tornadoes, and plane crashes! I was told that these dreams were brought on by the stress of the wedding and also the pregnancy. I hadn't had the dreams for a while but within the past week or so I have started having the violent storm and tornado dreams again. I think it is because I have been worrying so much lately since I am coming down the home stretch of my pregnancy. I guess the best advice I can give you (and myself!) is to stay calm and not worry...and to let you know that you are not the only one out there having these "scary" dreams!

I had violent and vivid dreams during early pregnancy, also very sexual ones. I then had no sex drive when awake!

I had dreams that the baby was a giraffe, a puppy, an alien, etc. I was told by my grandmother that this is your mind's way of preparing you in case the baby isn't exactly how you imagined it would look. I remember in my dreams telling people the baby giraffe was soooo cute and just gushing about it. How crazy!

As everyone said, it is all hormone related. Keep a journal of the funny ones and put it in the baby book to share.

BTW, the giraffe/puppy/alien baby was totally normal at birth.

Totally normal!! Google pregnancy & dreams and A LOT will come up. I've had vivid, scary dreams since the begging! Until I was 5 months I woke up sweating every night due to nightmares... and once, i had a dream my baby was a boston terrior!! Yep... they can get really weird! It's gonna be strange to have normal dreams again after this is all over.

if you want a baby that bad it will affect your dreams. but your only 12 your time will come. i have always wanted to be a mommy to. and then they told me i could never conceive. so that made me want it more and i also dream often about having a baby. i day dream about it at night before i go to sleep. and i can have the dreams almost every night. but it is torture for me because when i wake up. there is no baby to care for. but you are still a child yourself. trust me you will get your chance to be a good mommy. if you are wise you will finish school and set your life strait before you bring a baby into the world. its only fare to the baby.
