Wicked is definitily suitable for both your boys. Most people say this musical mostly appeals to girls (as it is mostly about the friendship of the two witches), I think boys will like it, too, especially if they like The Wizard of Oz. Wicked is truly a Broadway Spectacle of spectacles with big production numbers, flying monkeys, and sparkling lights. Also, I think it's beneficial to talk about the play with your boys. For example, at intermission, ask what they think is gonna happen. The play has a pretty big twist in it and it's really rewarding if they think they can figure it out. The girl I mentor got into Wicked when she was about 12. The first time she saw it, she just couldn't stop talking about the clues you get about the ending earlier in the show. It's like The Sixth Sense - everything makes sense AFTER you see the ending.
The Lion King is really cool, too - but that age boys might think it's for "babies" b/c it's Disney - that just depends on your boys. It's an all around experience b/c people come out through the aisles and such.
As for days, any weekday will be better than a weekend if you're looking for better seats.

Wicked is suitable for all ages. You can also try a Disney musical - Mary Poppins, The Lion King for example (Lion King is better).
They're probably old enough for Spelling Bee if you like- but some stuff they might not get. You can try Grease or A Chorus Line also, but I don't know if they'd be as interested.
My top pick for you is The Lion King.
Go on like a Tuesday night or a Wednesday Matinee when it won't be so difficult to get tickets.

It's definitely suitable for both of your children. They may also enjoy Mary Poppins, especially the Chimney Sweeps ;-) They would also probably really like Young Frankenstein or How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Have fun!!!

I took my 8 year old son to see it and he loved it. He didn't get all the little refs to the Wizard of Oz, but he loved the set, the costumes and esp. the flying monkeys. Your two should have a great time. Enjoy!

wicked is mostly appropriate for 10 year olds, the only part i can remember that concerned me was the part when two people are singing "as long as you're mine," and at the end, "For the first time i feel...wicked..." and then they proceed to lay down and...well, you know.
the length of time they keep the lights up after the last line really acconts for whether or not it is innaproproate. other than that, they should love it.

It is suitable for all ages. There is some kissing which will probably make the boys groan, but not much else.
