Does anyone else find it doesnt make any sense to have preseason games still when the NHL was supposedly starting its season last weekend in London?
Is'nt it dumb to have reg season games played the same nights as preseason?
Oh wait who is the NHL commish? Gary Bettman? It all makes sense now!

Who is giving all these answers thumbs down? I know you cant be thinking it is a good think with both preseason reg season happening the same time. Gary Bettman is that you in here giving thumbs down?

LMAO. I agree with you 100 %.
It is friggin ridculous to have the regular season start while almost every other team is still in pre-season.

Prior to the NHL/WHA merger it was very common for the last pre-season games to be played the same day (or after) the regular season starts.
If the season started on a Wednesday, and a couple of teams didn't start until Saturday....those teams would get in an extra game pre-season game on the Wednesday or Thursday.
It's a provision that has been part of NHL scheduling since the 1940s. This year, Philip Anschutz utilized it.

leave it up to the boys who make the scheduling i tell ya. I'm so glad they are changing the scheduling next year I'm so sick of watching division teams play each other 8 times in a season. Half the Canadian teams aren't even playing each other this year cause of the retarded schedule. And its to "promote rivalry" amongst divisions? I think it ruined the rivalry's it's too much now. Who cares if Montreal and Toronto are playing this weekend they play every freakin weekend. Alot of the games in England is L.A's fault though Bettman was just a pilon in the whole scenario.
