I am currently taking Metformin and TTC. It is prefectly safe in fact you are less likely to miscarry if you remain on it during the first few weeks of pregnancy. I have PCOS and my doctor told me to remain on it and she would tell me after I got pregnant when to stop taking it. Why didn't you ask your doctor these questions? They should have told you this.

Metformin is safe to take during pregnancy. Many diabetics
are having healthy children.

Metformin can be taken for your entire pregnancy. I took it until I was 16 weeks, and I will start taking it again if my glucose levels get too high.

You would have to talk to your doctor about how long you need to take it, if there are chances of complications/harm to the baby, etc. My daughter in law is pregnant and taking metformin because of her PCOS--she is insulin resistant. She took it to enable her to get pregnant, and is still taking it, she is almost 3 months pregnant. I don't know that they've told her how long she'll have to take it. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor questions--that's what you are paying him for--to be there for YOU.

I take Metformin as prescribed for sort II diabetes. Don' t think of it particularly is in contact in weight-loss... perhaps ask the checklist for some verification right here. As to dose I take 1000mg so i do no longer think of you have plenty to fret approximately there. yet weight-loss? i do no longer adventure any.
