I need help breaking down this poem for its meaning, I hope someone can help because I cant ask the writer until next week. (Poem was written by my bf in the Army)
Lovely premonitions travels within my mind with no opposition
Intellectually interpreted and constructed from what we already have
Yet captivating captious motives have arrived, not from my behalf
Purgatory is where i stand, although my soul feels licit
Don't feel ligature when it comes to me; irregular it seems
This dramatic drama is ravaging my dreams; a drawback indeed
Distinctive distinction extinguish the disturbance within
although I love you, I'm willing to be your best friend.

He seems to be saying that he had lovely premonitions which he logically interpreted to mean that his time would soon be over. Purgatory is religious, catholic term referring to a place between heaven and earth/ dead and living. He sees himself in such a situation/location and even though he is soul is pure/licit/legal, he has misgivings about his fate. Although he nurses hope, there are dubious disturbing feelings within and although he loves you, he would rather he just remained your best friend.

Maybe he means that war/the Army is Purgatory. Is he the type of person who would break up with you via a vague incomprehensible poem? If not, maybe you shouldn't worry too much about it.

that is indeed a realistic poem. doesnt need to be interpreted, it is supposed to be understood about your bf's feeling towards you. sad to say, but he is not into you any longer. though he expressed it in a nice manner, it actually like telling you to have everything between the two of you OVER...

it sounds like he is trying to let you down easy. like there are too many trust issues and other drama that he cantdeal with right now or anymore and he thinks you will be better off without him or visa versa.. good luck and i hope thats not it...
