Yep. The GBS infection can come and goes at any time. Which is why they test you with every pregnancy, and they wait until you're in the last weeks of pregnancy - because you could be negative early in pregnancy and get GBS later on, or vice versa.

Yes. There is always bacteria present but the group B can go away and reappear. So they test you every time you are pregnant, and always at the end.
