I think you are asking the question because it is on your mind trying to find a check list of when to divorce but there is no such guide in this. Just remember that if you are thinking about it chances are that you are little ahead emotionally than your spouse will be and that is the rub in this game. This is the hardest decisions to make but what helped me make it was to do a time line of the relationship and to see where and for how long things turned bad then decide whether anything I could do to make it better when I found no recourse other than ending the relationship it was time to do so. I hope this helps.

When you tried to work things out and it couldn't be work out. Or if one of you are cheating. If your spouse doesn't respect you at all at anytime. It's best to get a divorce but it's cheaper filing for dissoultions unless there's something you can't agree on like custody of the children,house,vehicles,etc... Just make sure you have enough money for those too.

you should divorce when you feel like the relationship is over when you consider your significant other nothing but a friend and look at him as nothing more. you will be happier and you can move on to where your not stuck in a marriage of convience.

There's no better time like the present. Once it's something you want, why drag it out?

If you need to ask maybe this is not the option for you. Try marriage counseling and see if you can save your marriage.
