Star: I've got no beef with the splits, they just have to fit into the whole plot of the movie, ya know. It's a running theme in most/all of JCvD's flicks, for some reason, and I'm not sure why. It's like if, at some point, Chris Tucker worked "Which one of y'll kicked me?" into every movie he was in. Out of place, indeed.

Excellent question...I can debunk the No Retreat No Surrender claim...he did the splits on the ring ropes no less. Seriously, he was in the movie about 5 minutes...and it was ALL splits and spin kicks.
In Lionheart, he did the splits and punched his opponent in the genitals...also in Bloodsport.
I can't speak for the other guesses, but I know for a fact that there are no splits in Universal Soldier: The Return, In Hell or Hard Corps. I think he's getting too old for them.
Do you know in what film he got his first credited role and what the original name of his character was?
