We started a PayPal account to help raise money for a hurt cat that is homeless. Some people have already dontated money. It sent me an email to let me know, and when i logged into my Paypal account, it asked if i wanted to 'Accept' or 'Deny' the money. Of course, i 'accepted'. But then it said i needed to become Verified? It wanted my bank account number? Is this ssafe? How do i get the money that people are donating to the cause? Do i have to give my bank account number?

I would never use Paypal....I have two friends that had problems with paypal. They got a fake paypal email form some hacker and didn't know it. They put there info in the email (stupid of them) and then whoever it was starting using there account. I don't think Paypal is safe and I wouldn't use it. Both of my friends had to close their bank accounts and open new ones.

Yes you do need to give your bank account details however so long as you are sure that you are working in paypal itself then it will be perfectly safe as you will be using secure connection (so long as you are not using an unsecured wireless connection however that is a whole other can of worms).

They need these details in order for them to be able to send you them money and they verify your identity by depositing a small amount of money into your account and only when you confirm the details of this deposit does paypal trust who you are. As you can see this is all for the protection of paypal and yourself.

Once you have verified your account then all the money that is sitting in your paypal account from donation can then be transferred out of paypal into your own account. At no stage do any of the people sending to know your account details.

That is perfectly safe. I use PayPal all the time and am verified. Once you put in your account number, you can transfer the money sent to you right to your bank account. Super easy!
