I was making a bumper sticker for my graphic design course and when I came upon an image that I could have used, I wondered: Would I be breaking this image's copyright laws by using it in my design, even though it's for learning?

So I was wondering, how are images protected by Copyright?

1) Images are protected by copyright the same way any other creative work is.

2) I do not think there are any exemptions in the copyright laws for educational use.

3) If you use it in your project, most likely nobody will know. Especially if it just stays inside the classroom.

4) I don't know the exact nature of your graphic design course or the particular assignment, but I would guess your supposed to be coming up with your own design.
