I do. Everyone I know that smokes had/has a parent/gaurdian that smokes.
My dad did there was no escaping it. That's how I got hooked on the garbage for a few years. I'm a quitter.

I'm with you newly married. Problem with that is it would most likely become a problem if it was. Equal to pot.

I was hearing sounds of wheezing and coughing every night before I go to bed. Now I know where it came from. Did you smoke 40 cigarettes a day?!

Anyway, yes it should be illegal to smoke around children and around your friends, especially me ;)

I agree. There are some new laws that are being passed moving toward this direction, but not enough IMO. It is definitely a child welfare issue, the govt isn't stopping people from smoking, just asking that they wait until they are out of the car, or step outside of their home to smoke if they are with their underage children.

Neither one of my parents ever smoked a day in their lives and Im a smoker. BUT I never held my son in my arms and smoked at the same time! When on his computer I dont smoke in his room- he is 16 and hates cigarette smoke so I respect his wishes in his room. I wish I could quit.......sigh

How about making smoking illegal (not just around kids)? I'm sure that people will still do it, but not nearly as many.

I agree second hand smoke isn't good for anyone especially children. I used to smoke, but outside. Doesn't really matter it's bad for you anyway.

i don't smoke (thank goodness) and i understand that it is a VERY addictive habit, harder to break than most, but i agree it should be illegal to smoke around children. their lungs are still developing and they are KIDS, for pity's sake. it should be a charge of felony child abuse AT THE LEAST.

I don't smoke around my son. My bad habits shouldn't affect his health. By the way, my parents have never smoked in their life.
