Today is my and my husband's one-year wedding anniversary. We were going to go out to dinner to celebrate, but we have a barely three-month-old baby and our babysitter just canceled. What should we do? (I'll repeat, we have a three-month-old baby! lol) I canceled our dinner reservations because it wasn't a baby-friendly kind of place. To make dinner at home, it's too last minute to make it as special as I'd like. (I'd have to go food shopping too...)

Awesome answers so far. I posted here largely hoping for some inspiration. I thought someone was bound to have a neat-fun-unique idea is all. No, we don't have any family less than four hours' drive away to drop baby off. I know this isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. I'm simply looking for the best idea to make the best of it. I have my best answer in mind (can't pick it yet - still too early) but I am super duper open to more brilliant ideas. Thanks.

You can still go out...what better way to celebrate your love than to enjoy your child together. Pick a kid friendly place and go out and eat, go for a walk with baby in stroller...it can be done!

Sometimes we make a certain day special but in reality what count is that you have a good and happy marriage and that anytime with your husband will be enjoyed.
I say call the baby sitter and her if she can be available in the weekend and you can then celebrate in that nice place with your husband.
Do the best you can today and have a great celebration in the weekend, that is what I've done when with my 3 year old when we don't have a sitter.
Good luck

Sky, the only place to stay for the occasion is The Hotel at Manadalay Bay. The Hotel is owned by Mandalay Bay, but it's pretty much its own place. The rooms are so incredibly nice you guys won't want to leave. Also, there's no casino in this hotel so it's nice and quite and it's only a two minute walk through the lobby into Mandalay Bay. Believe me, you guys will love this place.

For tonight, just get dinner delivered or have your husband pick it up on his way home from work. You could also rent a movie to watch. Choose another night to have your "official" celebration. It's not the end of the world. You will actually get to celebrate twice now! That's not so bad!

You don't live near any family or a close friend who might watch the baby for a few hours? Go to a family friendly place, not a big deal. The point is just spending time together, right? You can do that anywhere.

Make a date for another evening in the near future. You can still celebrate your union. You will discover that with a child you have to learn to be flexible. Tonight, after the child is down for a couple of hours, share a glass of wine and toast this important day.

Take this great gift out with you someplace all three of you can celebrate your love for each other.
If that's too difficult, get some good Chinese food delivered, watch a good movie and enjoy your lives together!

Wow, do you really need people to tell you what to do here? Just get some take out from a nice place! Now a days, even many 3-4 star restaurants will do take out for you. Why in teh world would you need yahoo answers to tell you that?
