ok so far the first 2 people that answered sound retarded, and obviously know nothing about drug selling, now, first 2 people when u do a drug deal and the person gets salt or sugar instead of cocaine and they find out who are they gonna report this to?? the cops? i dont think so, the question asker is more worried about if they get caught doing a "drug" deal thats not really drugs, and my answer is i have no idea what would happen,my guess is u can still be arested for something they will deff not have a laugh and let u go, no as far as selling crack heads fake sh*t, u might wanna invest in some protection

In most jurisdictions, if you try to flim flam an undercover officer with fake drugs, they can bust you as if you were selling the real stuff. Plus, they will be slightly perturbed because you wasted their time. Not a good thing to try.

If you sell phony dope on the street, who cares whether or not it's illegal? Your life will be short and painful once the deception is discovered.

Probably, but even if it isn't, it does sound like a pretty surefire way to end up dead, especially if you tried to sell large quantities to a major dealer.

This question may be borderline against YA community guidelines, and furthermore, I hope you value your life more than that, I hope that your sense of ethics precludes such behavior, and that you are just larking about.

The answer is who cares cause you aren't going to live long enough to get arrested.

To those geniuses who said that's fraud - what difference does it make. Like some crack head is going to file a police report or get a lawer and sue to to get their money back. No, they are going to do something a bit more painful.

Yes. Anything being passed off as a CDS (Control, Dangerous Substance) is still considered a CDS by the law. If you try and sell salt as coke, the cops will still bust and prosecute you.

Yes. Not only would you be attempting to sell "narcotics", but you'd also be selling something under false pretenses. They couldn't really turn you in without catching themselves too...Unless they just gave the cops a "tip" on where someone was selling "drugs."

Yes it is illegal because of the pretense under which you are selling it . you can do time for such acts.
