Looking thru all the videos and all you see is YANKEES interviews. You know, there are 29 other teams in the league other than the NY Yankees who didn't even win their division this year! How about interviews with other teams' players and Managers.

The Nationals were supposed to have the worst record in the league this year. Well surprise, surprise they didn't!

I'm sick and tired of the Yankees and Red Sox being given all the coverage!

ESPN & Fox Sports love the Yankees so much it's almost disgusting, it's like why don't they just dry hump the team on camera while they are at it.

ESPN is in Connecticut so not far from New York and of course Fox Sports I believe is located in New York, so their reporters are Yankees fans.

I think for some reason they believe that they would rather appeal to all the yankees fans and that will make up for leaving out the 29 teams.

dk proved my point, if they make up 60% then they are leaving out 40% almost half.

The reason why these other teams don't get ratings is because they are only known to their home crowd, I remember 10 years or so ago when everyone was shocked at Omar Visquel catching balls behind his back at an All Star game, but he did that all the time in Cleveland.

That is why certain players are so underrated and if they are good enough they know that New York is the only one with the money and the exposure to make them famous so it's a vicious cycle hurting the small market teams.

The answer to 99% of all questions in America is money. Why is there fifteen nights in a row of American Idol? Money. Why is Notre Dame on TV every saturday, even though they stink? Money. Why are the Red Sox and Yankees the lead story? Money. Websites get more money the more clicks they get. How can they get more clicks? The two most popular teams will drive clicks up. Same with TV, radio, etc. Its all money driven. I read that of all the MLB merchandise sold (in the world, not just U.S.) 41% is either the Red Sox or Yankees. Its money, plain and simple.

No. The League purely moved a collection to make issues even back. And the logistics of MLB hasnt replaced. the super markets nonetheless pay thank you to plenty and thieve the stable gamers. So the newly extra communities will lose their stable gamers purely like the small industry communities we already have. additionally, the expertise pool would be worse, because of the fact there will be to many gamers interior the league who arent stable adequate. specific there will be the Longorias, the Mauers, the Cargos and Tulos, and the McCutchens. yet overrall, that wont ensue as plenty. it would purely water down a league that already has crappy communities. because of the fact the low industry communities that suck outnumber the low industry communities that be triumphant. the only way i could desire to work out it happening is that in the event that they upload yet another long island group, la group, Boston group, and Chicago group purely so as that they could thieve followers from the main markets (particularly long island, la, and Chicago because of the fact they have 2 communities each and each) which might even out the playing container. in the event that they have been to enhance to different countries, then it would be a return to Montreal and Mexico city. yet putting communities in a depleted city (Mexico city) and a city that couldnt have adequate money their group (Montreal) it wouldnt ensue. yet to the guy who asked removing communities, that may not in any respect ensue. they'll the two pass to a sparkling city or stay positioned. You lose greater money with the aid of depleting a collection thoroughly.

There are just a few teams that appeal to a national audience and the Yankees and Red Sox are two of them. ESPN and the other national networks are not going to televise a game knowing they are going to have low ratings. Many of the MLB teams like the Nationals, Royals and others are only going to be available to a local audience. Remember, all things are never equal.

I understand your sentiment but the Red Sox and Yankees make up for 40% of all MLB merchandise revenue so they are major economic forces in baseball and are very popular. That combined with the fact that both play in major media outlets and you're going to get (in yours and several other fans eyes) oversaturated with Boston and New York coverage.

Well New York equals automatic good ratings PLUS all of the other luxuries the Yankees bring to the table...they have fans everywhere, people are interested in their history, Yankee Stadium, etc. etc. etc. Boston is the similar, another storied past with fans everywhere, Fenway Park, recently winning "cursed" team, etc. etc. etc.

I think the Nationals have things lining up for them with this new stadium though. Washington is an outstanding market. Stay tuned.

If you're gonna get coverage, you have to have one of three things.

1) Be the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, or Mets.

2) Be playing awful.

3) Be playing extremely well.

I agree with you it does get boring, but the networks love those 2 teams. They have a lot of fans as well.

Look at it this way, in 2005 the Astros/White Sox WS was one of, if not the lowest rated one in history in terms of veiwers.

Hey, don't blame the Red Sox. Remember us, we hadn't won since 1918? Besides, how many teams have Derek Jeter, the second coming of Jesus, on their team?

Like it or not, the Yanks are the most popular team in baseball. Evan those who do not like them spend almost more energy hating them then they spend on liking there own team. They are everybody's favorite team to bash (whether they win or not) and Yahoo! knows that. Hence they have all the videos.
