please provide links that prove if it is live or if it's not live. i'm in an argument with someone and i want to settle it once and for all.

They are live in New York at 9 am, however, depending where you live, it could be taped. I live in New Enland, and it comes on at 10 am, so when I watch, it was actually taped an hour earlier.

A agree with The Shawn; there is a 10 second delay for live shows like Live with Regis & Kelly and The View since the Janet Jackson fiasco.

Very rarely is it pre-recorded. Usually in the summer on Fridays, it's pre-recorded - rest of the time it's live. You can tell, when Regis holds up the newspapers for the day and if there's a glass of chocolate soy milk in front of him. WHen it's taped (sometimes they do 2 shows a day), there's only a mug in front of them and they never go into detail what they did the previous evening.

they are live 9 am new york time almost every day. I was in the studio audience a few years ago they did the live show from 9 to 10 then they taped a segment that was on a later show.

I can and it is....although, they do tape occasional shows, like for instance, on Friday's sometimes. You will know if it is 'live' if they talk about the weather when they first sit down.
