Born Andrew Warhola On August 6, 1928. OR October 28, 1930. It's hard pressed to find a site that is positive.
At age 8, Andy was diagnosed with chorea.
At age 14, his father died from complications of the liver. Andy did NOT attend his funeral.
In 1945 Graduates from Schenley High School, and enrolls at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh.
He graduates in 1949 and moves to Manhattan, with his friend Philip Pearlstein.
His First Exhibition in New York is in 1952 at the Hugo Gallery. The Show, "Fifteen Drawings based on the Writings of Truman Capote"
Andy would try to contact Truman, Leaving Messages with his mother Julia Capote. At first she was cordial but would end up telling Andy to quit calling.
It would take almost a decade before their infamous friendship would begin.
By the end of the 1950's doing everything from Free lance work for Glamour Magazine and Album covers for Columbia Records Andy was making an unheard of Hundred thousand a year....
By 1962 The Factory days were in full swing. The early sixty's had him creating Pop Culture Art. Taking images be it comic strips or advertisements and enlarging them to canvas.. In fact he invented the Concept of Using a metal frame, to pull a piece of Screen; In order to spread the Ink. Or Paint, Or Pencils.
His first Silk-screen. Troy Donahue
Today Silk-screening is as common as a ball point pen.
..It will always remain *HIS* Signature style.. He is the Creator of Graphic art.
.......But beyond his Painting, Andy was a Producer. A director. By 1963 He was rarely seen without his Film Camera. Shooting motion pictures of everyday things, and creating Movies.
June 3rd 1968. Valerie Jean Solanas walked into the Factory, with Andy, She was hiding a .32 automatic in a paper bag.
..She pulls it out, Fires. She fires a second time. Andy Warhol falls to the floor and tries to reach cover under a desk. She fires a third time.
The bullet enters his right side, exits the left side of his back.
Also Wounded, Mario Amaya.
By the grace of God twice, Fred Huges was never shot, though Valerie aimed 2 different weapons at him.
At around five PM Andy was pronounced clinically dead, however will survive.
Three hours later Valerie Solanas would walk up to a rookie on the street, hand him the two guns and Say, "The police are looking for me"
Twelve years later, Andy Warhol and Fred Huges would spend some time with the Pope.
In 1969 Andy starts Production of his most lasting Legacy, (next to his Art)
Interview magazine.
Originally called inter/VIEW. Named changed in 1971.
He Maintained Editor in Chief until is Death.
Andy Warhol died Feb. 22, 1987.
"In the future everybody will be world-famous for 15 minutes"

He was gay, he did pop art and is most famous for his depictions of Marilyn Monroe and Campbells soup. Google really is your best source for this though. If you want to know about his friendships look into Keith Haring

well he was a famous artist who's art was based on 'pop' art. meaning it had a lot of colour and was very 'hip'....ans he was ugly....and he also did alot of print art.
