As China is the only country in the world that could make demands on the GENERALS in Burma should the rest of the world threaten with a boycott of the games if China does't interfere with the opresive regime in Burma ?
I think we should lobby our goverment to take more severe action !
The killing and imprisonment of the monks can't just be ignored by us ,surely !

Well, if that's the issue it will not be necessary to boycott the entire Olympics. Simply move the location of the events somewhere else. Why make the problem so complicated when there can be very simple solution to it?

You are a righteous and brave person dare to speak out against the communist China while most world powers dare to do nothing.
However, I think we should boycott products made in China. It will be more effective than boycotting the Olympics in Beijing, which will deprive our athletes the opportunity to compete.
Please, everyone, be selective when shopping. Please do not buy Chinese products. Buy American. Look for "MADE IN USA"
Buying American will benefit American manufacturers, our economy. I am a naturalized American citizen originally from Taiwan. Please, all naturalized Americans, if you love America, buy America.

It would be much more effective to boycott products made in China... but that would require us to do research and actually LOOK at the products that we are buying. The almighty $$ is the only language that they will listen to in the long run.
Hey, it worked for the French!

Many Buddhist, feminists, and animal rights activists are.
So I'm totally in the boat.
I'm not a fan of the Olympics anyway.

The Olympics should not be politicized even though they have been in the past.
All it does is hurt the athletes who work hard to get this far.
We have to look to other means of support for Burma.

Boycotting the Olympics hurts only the athletes who wanted to compete.
The nation against whom you are boycotting won't care about your actions.
