As said previously, it depends to some degree on where you live. No point in going with a provider who can't give you high speed. Cox and Verizon are my preferences - and the ones with which I've had the most experience.

Have personally used bellsouth, comcast, knology but have had more experience with time warner road runner. As for my person opinion, time warner road runner. With the changing options once before of having the television cable then high-speed internet for me it's the best around. Average people just use it for web browsering. But depending on your useage of the internet provider i would choose and have gone back to time warner. Their digital phone service is good but that's my local opinion also...depends on where you live service might not be top notch...but that's why there is customer services. Keep em on their toes...remember your the customer, you pay them for services render and expect nothing less than top notch...get top notch services. Hope this helps.

Depends on where in the country you are located. Here in the North East, it's Time Warner.

Verizon, AT&T, sprint, Virgin (perhaps?), T-cellular to call some. internet service relies upon on the area yet there is Comcast, street Runner and probably some others. those are those we had on the East Coast.

The best is generally a smallish ISP. I use DSL Extreme, www.dslextreme.com . If they're available in your area, they have good prices and awesome support. Never had to sit on hold for too long, and support is located in the USA.
If you do sign up, use phirephoto as a reference, I get a month free. :)
If they're not available in your area, look for a smaller ISP. You get better service because you are one of a few customers, not one of 10 million customers.

This really depends on where in the U.S. you live. However, one way to easily make a comparison is to compare speed vs. the price they are charging.
Whoever delivers the most speed (upload and download) for the lowest price is who I would choose.

different states have different web providers... most popular is either time warner.. cox.. or comcast.. since one wont exist if the other is already operating in that city
