What are the top five most famous songs of all time?
Edit from previous question: that have a musician that can be credited with the song. (ie. Happy Birthday and Mary Had a Little Lamb, unless you know the musician who wrote these songs, they are not valid answers)

My List:
1. Beethoven's 5th
2. Thriller -- Michael Jackson
3. Can't Help Falling In Love -- Elvis
4. What a Wonderful World -- Louis Armstrong
5. Amazing Grace -- John Newton

These are all beautiful songs, but I would have only picked Amazing Grace as one of them.
Maybe a Christmas song, I've even heard Muslims sing Christmas songs years ago. Back in the 70's.
Beatle's songs were big in their day.
Elivis with "Don't be Cruel", "Hound Dog", "Jailhouse Rock",
et al.
The Casablanca Movie Song, "As Time Goes By"
The National Anthems of big countries would of course be known to most of their citizens.
As am American, I've heard the Russian National Anthem,
the French National Anthem, "God Save The Queen", and
"Hatikva" many times.
The theme from "The Unit" has really been hot lately, even though thousands of Marines and GIs have heard it for years.

Of course it goes without saying that the "Hallelujah Chorus"
is the greatest Oratorio every written. F. Handel.
