Barry Bonds is done playing outfield, no way he'll play it anymore. So abreu, melky, jhonny and godzilla won't be any problem. The real problem is will you stick with a fragile Jason giambi who played just 83 games with only 39 RBI and 60 hits, or Bonds who never played in AL and wants to show the world (especially fans and media) he is not over yet. Steinbrenner has the money but Mr. T has said he would prefer sticking with the team he already has (in the offensive part.... obviuosly we need some pitchers!!)
But be careful, keep an eye on Shelley Duncan... he's the next one out there!!

the yankees have damon, cabrera, abreau, and matsui at OF. abreau's contract for 2008 will be picked up with leaves a jam in the OF. Since Bonds can't play OF, i could only see him playig DH. Giambi is a nice producer already at DH and i dont see him leaving the yankees any time soon. He is more likely to sign somewhere like LAA or DET.

I doubt it, they already have Giambi as a DH and there would be no outfield spot for Bonds considering they have 4 everyday outfielders as is. Beyond that the Yankees have a glut of offense, Bonds would be a better fit on a team that has most of the pieces in place but just needs a little offensive boost.

No way. The Yanks have other things to worry about, such as the contracts of Posada, A-Rod, Pettitte, the Rocket, and a few other guys. Besides, the Yanks don't need another reason for so many people to hate them. Bonds is an idiot for not wanting to go to the Angels.

Your buddy is an idiot. The last thing the Yankees need is another DH and the last place in the world Barry would want to go is New York, the media would kill him.

I can see Bonds playing Texas next yr(they have a short HR porch in right) some others might be KC, TB, and possibly Anaheim.

NYY is known for acquiring the big money players. I could see them offering him, but I don't know if he would even want to go there. I see Bonds retiring, the game has passed him by. I mean, not one sports network even acknowledged his last couple of games in San Fran that much.

your buddy is wrong.
we have A-Rod, the greatest player of this era, and one of the greates ever, and he does his thing without the clean or the clear.
If, however, he does come to NY, I am gonna have to stop booing him, since I never boo the Yankees. Never.

I hope so. I think he'll hit 45 home runs at DH at Yankee Stadium!
