I'm thinking about going to school for fashion design. Would it be smart to go to a fashion design school or go to a university and major in fashion design I plan on transferring to either or in January 2008 what should I do?

Apply to the better schools tha thave fashion design as well as the top design schools. Then choose the one that you think is the best fit.
Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is the top design school in the country. If you can get in -- go there.

If you go to a school that offers a fashion design major than most likely it's a liberal arts school and you will have to take other courses as well to complete core Gen. Ed. courses. I'd go online and check out the catalog's for the colleges, compare what classes each will make you take in order to receive a degree let alone one in fashion design.
