The dictionary defines "sycophant" to mean: a self-seeking, servile flatterer; fawning parasite. Wow, so they even called him a "parasite" This seems to be far worse than what MoveOn had to say about the guy.
Will we hear an outcry by Conservatives condemning this magazine. Will Congress vote to condemn this magazine?

General Petraeus has political ambitions and doesn't want to ruffle any feathers in Washington either in the executive or legislative branches.
It would seem that sycophant is apropriate to describe General Petraeus. Maybe there was something to what MoveOn was saying after all. They may have been to over the top in how they said it but true nevertheless.
