Are we already a military industrial theocracy? ... are decisions made in government already decided by political pressure from big business? ... more to the point, has big business gotten key people elected to power positions, so we will go to war whenever Lockheed or Haliburton need to make lots of money

how long will we allow them to use the excuse that our military 'signed up' for this ... a standing army promoting capitalism halfway around the world

... and isn't this exactly what George Washington warned us was the only thing that could bring down our great nation

is there any way we can return to the principles our great nation was founded on?

George Washington, Eisenhower and others have warned us, yet there is a pursuit of the folly of a military industrial complex that will splinter a nation. Why?

Where were you in history class? This country was founded on freedom. That included freedom from excessive government. And how about excessive taxation and representation for taxes paid.

In case you didn't know it capitalism has been from day on the cornerstone of this country. 99% of the people who came here, came here to make more money and have more wealth than they had where they were. That my friend is capitalism. The opportunity to seperate yourself from the rest by business sense and hard work.

Now I don't know what specificly you have against Lockheed-Martin or Halliburton but I doubt if their bottom line had anything to do with going to war.

Does your let's get back to principles include scrapping anything the seems socialistic? After all medicare, medicaid, social security, national healthcare, and many other things that are complained about being deficient are NOT even considered in the Constitution.

What about banning prayers from schools? Schools were opened with prayer before this country was founded and it didn't change until LONG after it was founded. Until recently it was unthinkable the Ten Commandments would be banned from public buildings. Is that what you want to get back to? Congress gets prayed over before the start of each days session. Our kids don't get that benefit. Why?

I'm not sure the great principles this country was founded on exist or ever existed. The leaders were people that wanted to be rich and powerful. They don't care about the average people. Since when has possessions amounted to happiness? I just got back from a trip to California. I spent time with 2 up and comers. Sales guys that make a lot of money. They buy big fancy places to live in, if you can call it that. They work crazy hours. They have 2 vehicles, one a BMW that they don't even own. They lease. They don't do much else besides work. I'm a doer. I was besides myself when one said he was bored. (duh?) I had lots of suggestions on what to do but of course it involved a lot of travel. It's California. All sites of interest are scattered. One of them was talking about being to talk one of his customers into buying anything he wanted to sell him. They criticized the vehicles other people drive. They think they are better than others. They measure success by what you possess. I see that in line with corporate values. It's all about money. Most people don't live for money. In fact, I think a lot of people would be happy without it. As long as you can do the things you want to do. I don't need to drive a BMW or live in a big and fancy house. I couldn't care less about stuff like that. It's insane. I like people and doing things. I love learning. I'm never bored. But corporations and politicians run things and they only care about things and money. They have no heart and no soul. They are empty space stealing thieves. They rob America of our soul. They belong behind bars and they would reside there if there was justice. Most people like doing things.

Yes, there's a way.
Libertarianism. Less government.
Take the power out of the government and big corporations won't have incentive to go to it for help.

You've got it all wrong. At least, your sources of who is causing the demise of democracy is wrong.

The people who cause the demise of democracy are the activist judges: the ones who flush the moral values of the people down the toilet and the ones who steal elections.

Somewhere the idea got set in many Americans mind that if it is good for big business it is good for all. Profit should not take the place of people.

If a Democrat is elected in '08 consider it one step closer to communism.

Marx had it right. The direction we're moving is getting closer and closer to a socialist nation...followed up by communism.
